Weekly Highlights

Strengthening Friendships & Building Healthy Relationships – During CPR (Circle of Power & Respect), students were paired up with another student they wanted to get to know better. With their new partner, they are learning different ways to practice being a good friend. The way they found their new partner, was through an anonymous chatroom that the teachers set up and monitored.  It ended up being a really fun way for students to connect.

P3 – Students are preparing for our student-led symposium, in which they will be teaching invited community members alternatives to violence. This week, they explored possible ways to teach various topics.

Writer’s Workshop – Interviews are complete and students are putting all the information they have collected from their interviews AND their personal research into essay paragraphs.

Book Clubs – Most students completed another round of book clubs this week and signed up for their next book. New books should come home this week. Read Live students will continue the work assigned to them by Ms. Pam.

Geography Challenge – Students took a TEST OF THE AMERICAS on Friday. They were challenged to learn many of the countries and territories of the North and South American Continents.  They will get their test results this week and will reset their goals for one final test they will take in the next week.
